Privacy Policy
JMall — village marketplace platform. Last updated: 23 Jul 2026
Effective Date: July 23, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to JMall ("we", "our", "Platform", "Company", "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the JMall mobile application, website, and related services to connect Buyers with village/area Suppliers (shopkeepers / delivery partners) for grocery and local commerce orders.
JMall is an intermediary marketplace platform — not the seller of products nor the delivery company. By using our application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Platform.
2. Information We Collect
- Personal / Account Information: name, mobile number, email (required), address, village/area, and other information you provide when creating or managing an account. For Buyers, CNIC / identity number may optionally be provided as text; we do not collect CNIC card images from Buyers.
- Verification Data (Buyers): profile photo (a male household member photographed inside the home) and one house photo (taken from outside the home) — collected for identity verification. These photos are shown to the assigned delivery partner (Supplier) on active orders so they can confirm the correct recipient at delivery. We do not collect CNIC card images from Buyers.
- Supplier / Delivery Partner Data: shop name, address, CNIC / identity document images (front and back — mandatory), profile photo, guarantor details with mandatory identity document images (front and back) for at least two guarantors, and wallet / commission related records.
- Order & Transaction Data: items ordered, delivery address, order status, voice notes (if used), and payment-related records where applicable.
- Chat & User Content: messages sent through in-app order chat, reports, and support requests.
- Location Data: approximate GPS when you allow — for village matching and delivery coordination.
- Usage & Device Data: app version, device identifiers, push notification tokens (FCM), IP address, app activity, crash logs, and security logs.
3. Buyer Information & What We Share With Suppliers
For active orders, the assigned Supplier / delivery partner may see limited Buyer information needed for safe delivery and identity confirmation, including: Buyer name, delivery address, profile photo (male household member inside the home), and house photo (outside the home).
We do not share the following Buyer information with Suppliers in the app:
- Buyer mobile / phone number
- Buyer CNIC / national identity number
- Buyer email address
- Buyer CNIC card images (Buyers do not upload these)
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create, manage, deactivate, or delete accounts
- To match Buyers with the approved Supplier in their village / area
- To process orders, notifications, chat, and real-time updates
- To verify identity and reduce fraud, abuse, and unsafe conduct
- To send service-related push notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- To enforce Terms & Conditions, wallet / commission rules, and moderation policies
- To improve app security, performance, and customer support
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
5. Push Notifications (FCM)
JMall uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send order updates, chat alerts, and service notifications — not third-party in-app advertising networks such as AdMob. You may disable notifications in your device settings; some critical account or safety messages may still be shown in-app.
5(b). Wallet Credits — No Withdrawal
JMall wallet balances — including referral rewards, signup bonuses, promotional credits, and admin adjustments — are virtual platform credits for use ONLY inside the JMall app (primarily platform commission / service fees for shopkeepers). Wallet funds cannot be withdrawn to bank accounts, cash, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or any external wallet. We do not offer cash-out or external redemption of wallet balance except where mandatory law explicitly requires otherwise.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. However, we may share data in the following cases:
- With Other Users: limited information needed for an active order — for Buyers this includes name, delivery address, profile photo, and house photo (not mobile number or CNIC / identity number); Supplier shop name and related order details are shared with the Buyer.
- With Service Providers: hosting, email/OTP, push notifications (FCM), cloud storage (e.g. AWS S3 for media), and analytics — under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal Compliance: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, child protection, and Platform integrity — including cooperation with law enforcement or government agencies where legally required.
- Business Transfers: if our company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, your data may be transferred subject to this policy.
7. User Responsibilities & Platform Disclaimer
- Platform Purpose: JMall is solely a technology marketplace connecting Buyers and Suppliers. We do not inspect, guarantee, or endorse every product, price, or delivery.
- Supplier Responsibility: product quality, quantity, pricing, delivery charges, and fulfilment are primarily the Supplier’s responsibility.
- Payment Safety: we do not require advance payment to delivery partners before order receipt. Users are responsible for safe payment practices (e.g. cash on delivery after checking goods).
- Safe Delivery: delivery should occur at a safe entrance / receive point — not inside private rooms. Users are responsible for personal safety during meetups.
- No Endorsement: listing or approval on the Platform does not mean JMall verifies every claim made by a user.
8. Security Measures
We implement reasonable security measures (HTTPS, access controls, authenticated APIs, hashed credentials where applicable). However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute safety of your information. Please use a strong password and keep your device updated.
9(a). Zero Tolerance Policy
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content, abusive users, hate speech, nudity, violence, fraud, and harassment. Any violation may lead to immediate content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
Examples of prohibited content include, but are not limited to: hate speech or discriminatory language; explicit nudity or sexual content (including content involving minors); graphic violence; harassment; threats; spam; illegal activity; impersonation; and materially misleading information.
Users may report objectionable content or behaviour using the in-app Report feature and may block abusive users where available. Upon receipt of a report, we review and take appropriate action (including content removal and account suspension or ban) and aim to address valid reports within 24 hours where reasonably practicable.
9(b). Child Safety & CSAE / CSAM Policy
We strictly prohibit and have zero tolerance for any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE / CSAM), including grooming, solicitation, or sexualization of minors in images, video, audio, text, or links. Any such content is removed, and responsible accounts are permanently banned.
JMall is intended for users aged 18+ (or with parent/guardian involvement where required by local law). It is not a children’s app and is not designed for Google Play “Designed for Families” / child-directed use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
We cooperate with relevant legal authorities and child protection agencies where required by law. Users can report suspicious or harmful content directly in-app using the Report feature or via support. Parents/guardians should supervise devices and payment methods.
10. In-App Chat & User Content
Chat is for order and delivery coordination only. We may process message metadata/content to provide the service, prevent abuse, investigate reports (harassment, threats, fraud, CSAE), enforce Terms, and comply with law. Abusive content may be restricted or removed; serious cases may be shared with law enforcement where legally required.
11. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your data, including:
- The right to access, update, or delete your personal data
- The right to deactivate your account temporarily from app settings
- The right to request permanent account deletion from app settings (password confirmation required)
- The right to restrict or object to certain data processing where applicable law provides
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
Some requests may be limited by active orders, wallet/commission records, fraud or child-safety investigations, or legal obligations. Contact in-app support for assistance.
12. Retention of Data
We retain your data while your account is active and as long as necessary for legal, operational, tax, dispute, fraud-prevention, child-safety, and security purposes. Chat logs may be retained for a limited period for moderation / legal holds. If you delete your account, some data may still be retained in anonymised, aggregated, or legally required form (e.g. completed orders, wallet records, moderation logs).
13. Content Moderation
JMall uses admin review and moderation for marketplace safety. New shopkeepers, villages, product requests, wallet top-ups, and certain catalog changes may require admin approval before becoming visible or active. We may remove content that violates our policies or applicable law.
14. Legal Compliance
Users of JMall — whether acting as Buyers or Suppliers — are solely responsible for complying with all applicable local, regional, national, and international laws in their country, including rules related to commerce, food safety, taxation, and consumer protection.
JMall and its operators shall not be held liable for any non-compliance or violation of such laws by any user, except where mandatory law imposes direct platform duties (including responding to CSAE / child-safety reports).
15. Account Deactivation & Deletion
You may deactivate or permanently delete your account from the app profile / account settings (password confirmation required), in line with Google Play and Apple App Store account-deletion expectations and applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA-style deletion rights).
Deactivation temporarily disables login. Permanent deletion removes your active account from the Platform. Some records (e.g. completed orders, wallet/commission history, fraud or child-safety investigation logs) may be retained where legally required or permitted. Deletion of app access is intended to be irreversible. For help, contact in-app support.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page and reflected in the app with an updated effective date. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
17. Contact
For privacy, account deletion, harassment, or child-safety / CSAE concerns, contact JMall support through the in-app report / support channel. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
